I'm on a mission to find a meditation that doesn't send me into a spin! Next up on my list is 3-stage breathing.
This meditation works for me because I have something to focus on throughout, if I notice my mind filling with thoughts I can really gently guide it back to my breath.
And my breath stays natural, rather than making it last longer or bringing it deeper into my body than usual. Hooray!
I have to say, this is possibly my favourite breathing practice so far...
