This is currently one of my favourite meditations - a really gentle guided practice that helps relax your whole body, working from your toes and feet all the way up to your face and head.
This practice is a form of progressive muscle relaxation - a simple but powerful meditation to release tension. It involves gently tensing a specific part of the body as you inhale, then fully releasing it on the exhale. This helps bring awareness to areas of hidden tightness, allowing you to consciously let go of stress. I find it really helpful after a long day or when my mind feels noisy - it’s a great way to reset both physically and mentally.
I just about always end my yoga sessions with a guided meditation. It helps everything settle: body, mind and breath. It brings a sense of balance and helps the transition back to daily life feel a little smoother.
Next time you're feeling tense or overwhelmed, perhaps take a moment to pause, breathe and notice how your body feels. Let this meditation be a small act of kindness to yourself.
If you're looking for ways to adapt your yoga practice or build confidence in movement, I’d love to help. As a certified coach and yoga teacher based in Sevenoaks, I work with individuals and groups to create a strong foundation for change—whether through movement, mindset, or both.
