Table top is wonderful - as well as being the starting point for all sorts of yoga poses, it's also great in its own right. It can help to strengthen our cores, lengthen our spines and even improve balance. Here are 3 adjustments that could help you to feel more comfortable in table top - especially if you feel it in the knees and wrists.

  1. Walk your hands in front of your shoulders: this can take some of the pressure off your wrists and make it a little more comfortable.

  1. Pad your knees: if kneeling is uncomfortable, a cushion or a folded blanket can make a difference. Even folding over your mat, so you have double thickness under your knee, can help.

  1. Curl your toes under: this can take some of the pressure off your knees too - plus it gives you an extra stretch in your toes and feet. Hooray!

Everybody's body is different, but with the right adjustments yoga can be an absolute joy whether you’re a beginner, recovering from an injury, or managing a health condition.
