What is a chemistry call?

You might have noticed that dotted around my website are little buttons inviting you to book a chemistry call. But what is a chemistry call? And why is having one so important?

For a coaching partnership to work well, you and your coach need to be a good fit. You need to know that this coach will be someone you feel comfortable talking to, someone that you’ll be able to trust, and someone who will help you to feel supported as you discuss the changes you want to make.

A chemistry call is a bit of a gift for both you and the coach. It gives you the chance to find out about a coach’s coaching style, their experience, and what they’re really like beyond their website and social media. The coach will use the conversation to understand what you’re hoping to achieve through coaching and what sort of challenges you might need to overcome.

Questions you could ask in a chemistry call

  1. What is your approach?

  2. What qualifications / experience do you have?

  3. Who do you typically work with and why?

  4. What do you expect from me during the coaching process?

  5. What would happen in our first session?

If the call goes well, you might decide you want to work with that coach. Hooray! If it doesn’t, or you have any doubts, don’t feel pressure to work together anyway. You are absolutely entitled to decide not to go any further. Or you could choose to ask a few more questions to help you feel more comfortable.

If you’re considering coaching, do make the most of these calls. They will really help you choose the right person for the next step in your coaching journey.

We all deserve to live a great life, but what great looks like changes over time and sometimes we find ourselves stuck living in a way that isn’t right for us anymore. I support women to live a happier life: through prioritising their wellbeing and doing more of what they love.

I offer yoga and coaching together, and separately. What would be a good fit for you?
